AZ Game On Expo Guide

What's up gamers, did you know every year in Arizona there's a convention just for us called Game On Expo? 

How much were your tickets?
I don't quite remember but I think we paid $40 per person for a Saturday. Rates are cheaper if you go on Friday or Sunday.

​How many days did you go?
Just one, it's not a big convention and I feel like a day is a perfect amount of time to see everything you want to see.

What is there to do?

• Go to panels! We attended one hosted by Jirard the Completionist and he’s so charming and funny IRL.
• Watch or participate in live Rock Band performances!
• Play retro games!
• Playtest games for local game devs! I played one that was a mixed reality escape room.
• Play board games you’ve never played before!
• Meet local gaming store and bar owners!
• Shop for merch!
• Participate in the scavenger hunt!
• Experience VR!
• Experience a gallery of game art!
• Find a spot to eat in downtown Phoenix!

Can I cosplay?
Absolutely! I went as Trucy Wright from the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Series. I was mistaken for The Hat in Time girl but I can totally see why. Both wear a black dress, a top hat, and a cape. 

Tips:

• Stay hydrated! It’s hot in AZ.
• Ask for consent to take photos of cosplayers!
• Be aware of your surroundings!
• Bring snacks!
